Fall and Comfort Food

I must admit, I am one of those crazy autumn lovers. It is currently in the 80s here in our part of North Carolina, but I fully plan on dragging my butt out of bed early tomorrow to hit the Farmer’s Market and see if they have pumpkins for the porch.

I just love everything festive and cozy. I live for fall and the holiday season. (Which lasts from late September into the New Year in my book!)

This evening, I made a big surf-n-turf comfort food dinner. It was so therapeutic to get into the kitchen with little Flora “helping” from her high chair and just cook a big batch of food. Here’s what we made:

Steamed Asparagus and Roasted Potatoes in a divided dish.

Grass fed beef burgers topped with shredded gruyere cheese.

Garlic and herb shrimp.
